Information we may receive

• Information you send voluntarily by email, including your name, email address, message, and any order details you choose to provide.
• Purchase and customer-service information made available to HOIJIN through Etsy.
• Scorer information such as a player display name, game code, hand results, scores, standings, awards, and host game information.
• Basic technical information that hosting and service providers may process, such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, and security or access logs.

How we use information

HOIJIN uses information to provide and support purchases, operate the scorer, calculate and display game results, respond to questions, troubleshoot problems, improve the products, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations. HOIJIN does not sell personal information.

Scorer names and shared games

A host creates a game and shares a code with invited players. Information entered into that game—including display names, scores, standings, and awards—may be visible to the host and other participants in the same game. Use a first name, nickname, or other display name rather than a full legal name. Do not enter private or sensitive information into a game.

Children

The website and host account are intended for adults. Children may play with family supervision, but a parent or guardian should manage app use. Please use a nickname for a child and do not enter the child's contact information or other personal details.

Service providers and outside links

The website, scorer, email, and shop rely on service providers that may process information on HOIJIN's behalf. When you follow a link to Etsy or another outside service, that service's privacy policy applies to its collection and use of information.

The website includes Vimeo-hosted videos and an embedded lesson collection. The embedded players use Vimeo's Do Not Track setting to limit analytics collection, although Vimeo may still use essential security and playback technologies when a player loads or you watch a video.

Retention and your choices

Information is kept only as reasonably needed to operate and support the products, maintain security and records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. You may ask a privacy question or request review or deletion of information controlled by HOIJIN by emailing hello@hoijin.com. Some records may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Changes to this notice

HOIJIN may update this notice as the website, scorer, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will identify the current version.
