A few practical details before the first deal.

Agreement to these terms

These terms are between the purchaser or user and HOIJIN, LLC. By purchasing, downloading, activating, accessing, or using Dragon Point Mahjong™ materials or services, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not purchase, activate, or use the materials or host features. These terms supplement the applicable Etsy listing and Etsy policies; mandatory rights under applicable law still apply.

The product

Dragon Point Mahjong™ is a physical table game played with a complete American or Chinese Mahjong tile set and dice supplied by the customer. Unless a product listing expressly identifies a physical accessory, the purchase consists of digital instructions, printable play materials, and the fixed-term app access described in that listing. Mahjong tiles, dice, phones, printing, internet service, and other table equipment are not included.

Checkout and order support

Purchases, payment processing, digital delivery, and applicable taxes are handled through the checkout provider identified at the time of purchase and are also subject to that provider's terms and policies. Contact HOIJIN through your order or at hello@hoijin.com for product support.

Digital materials license

The purchaser receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, print, and use the purchased materials for personal play and for private games hosted by that purchaser, subject to the specific product listing. Files, access credentials, and copies may not be resold, republished, uploaded for public access, or distributed as a competing product. Players invited to a purchaser's hosted game may use the game code and player-facing scorer without buying separate host access.

Host License Codes and return credentials are issued to the purchaser, must be kept reasonably secure, and may not be sold, publicly posted, or shared to provide host access to another purchaser. HOIJIN may suspend credentials reasonably believed to be compromised, fraudulently obtained, or used in material violation of these terms while the issue is reviewed.

Phone scorer availability

The phone scorer is a companion service that requires a compatible internet-connected device. HOIJIN uses reasonable efforts to keep it available and working, but does not promise that access will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, or network. Maintenance, updates, security work, internet failures, and outages or changes involving hosting and other third-party providers may temporarily limit access.

Features may be updated when reasonably needed for security, reliability, legal compliance, scoring corrections, or product improvement. If the scorer is temporarily unavailable, the printable guide and Player Score & Tracker may still be used to play and record scores manually. If an extended technical problem materially prevents use of purchased app access, contact HOIJIN so the issue and an appropriate remedy can be reviewed under the product listing, checkout-provider policies, and applicable law.

Included access period

The purchase includes, at no additional charge, a bonus of 12 months of Private Host Beta phone scoring app access beginning on the date the Host License is activated. This app bonus is not sold as a separate product. Your Host Activation License number and PIN will be sent to you within one business day or sooner after purchase. You do not need to contact HOIJIN to request them. Host access supports the features described in the applicable listing; invited players may join the purchaser's hosted game and use player-facing scoring features without purchasing separate host access.

Beta service and game records

The Private Host scorer is a beta service. Features, screens, calculations, storage methods, and availability may change during the access period. Beta software may contain errors, and saved games or standings may be corrected, reset, or lost because of user error, maintenance, security work, service failure, or product changes. Hosts should retain the printable Player Score & Tracker or another independent record for any game information they wish to preserve. The scorer is a convenience tool, not a guaranteed archival or backup service.

No subscription or automatic renewal

The included access period is fixed-term access and does not enroll the purchaser in a subscription or automatic renewal. When the 12-month period ends, host features expire unless the purchaser separately chooses to buy another access period, if one is offered. HOIJIN does not guarantee that a continuation option will be offered or what its future features or price may be. No renewal charge will be made automatically under this purchase.

Our plan for the scorer

HOIJIN's goal is for the Private Host scorer to become a lasting part of the Dragon Point Mahjong™ experience. The beta period is intended to help improve reliability, refine features using host feedback, and establish a sustainable service that can continue growing with the game. Where reasonably practical, HOIJIN plans to communicate available continuation options before a purchaser's included access period ends. This statement describes HOIJIN's present goal and is not a promise of perpetual service.

If HOIJIN ceases operations

App access depends on HOIJIN continuing to operate and maintain the scorer. If HOIJIN permanently closes, dissolves, or otherwise ceases operations, online scorer access and related hosted features may be discontinued. Customers may continue using previously downloaded instructions and printable materials, including the Player Score & Tracker for manual scoring. HOIJIN does not promise perpetual or lifetime availability of the hosted app. Where reasonably practical, HOIJIN will provide advance notice of a planned permanent shutdown. This provision does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Digital purchase cancellations and refunds

Because digital files and access information cannot be physically returned, digital purchases generally cannot be canceled or returned after download or access, except where required by law or provided under the checkout provider's policies. If files are defective, missing, inaccessible, or materially different from the listing, contact HOIJIN through the order so the problem can be corrected or another appropriate resolution considered.

Any physical accessory return or exchange terms will appear in the applicable product listing and shop policies.

Game results and responsible use

Hosts and players are responsible for entering accurate information and checking results. The scorer is designed to assist with scoring and shared standings, but a host may correct mistakes and the official Dragon Point Mahjong™ materials control if a display or calculation conflicts with the published rules. The product is for entertainment and is not a gambling, financial, or professional service.

Users must not attempt to disrupt the scorer, bypass access controls, reverse engineer protected portions of the service, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the service unlawfully. HOIJIN may restrict access reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or its legal rights.

Third-party services

The website, checkout, video player, email, hosting, internet connection, and scorer may rely on third-party services. HOIJIN does not control those providers and is not responsible for their independent terms, privacy practices, outages, changes, or discontinuation. Links to outside services are provided for convenience and do not guarantee their continued availability.

Intellectual property

Dragon Point Mahjong™, HOIJIN™, the artwork, written rules, printable materials, scorer design, and related branding are owned by or licensed to HOIJIN and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Purchase does not transfer ownership of those rights.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the products and services are provided for recreational use on an “as available” basis without warranties beyond those expressly stated in the product listing. HOIJIN is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the game, materials, outside services, or scorer. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HOIJIN's total liability arising from the applicable purchase or service will not exceed the amount paid to HOIJIN for that purchase. Nothing in these terms excludes, limits, or waives rights, remedies, or liability that cannot legally be excluded, limited, or waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. Any dispute that is not resolved through the applicable checkout provider or informal communication will be handled in a court with lawful jurisdiction in Brevard County, Florida, unless applicable law gives the customer the right to bring the matter elsewhere.

Changes and contact
